I’ve always loved flowers, and when I first started thinking about growing peonies, I had no idea how much I would come to love them. There’s something special about watching a tiny root tucked into the soil eventually grow into something so beautiful.
Roots & Blooms Peony Farm is a new adventure for our family. I’m home with our children, and I wanted to create something meaningful that I could grow right here alongside them—something we could learn from, enjoy together, and watch take shape through the seasons.
We’re starting from the ground up, quite literally. Our children get to see the fields being prepared, the roots being planted, and all the work that happens long before the first peony ever blooms. My hope is that this farm becomes something we can build together and something they’ll always remember being a part of.
I also love what flowers do for people. A bouquet can celebrate someone, comfort someone, brighten an ordinary day, or simply make a person smile. I want Roots & Blooms to be a place that brings a little more of that beauty and joy into our community.
We’re just beginning, and there is so much growing still ahead of us. I’m excited to share the process—the planting, the waiting, the mistakes, the first blooms, and everything in between.
